The anticipated "Draft Law on Stray Animals from the Perspective of Young People" Research Report has been shared with the public.
Our association's founding goals include "to increase respect for the rights of humans and all living beings with a solution-oriented perspective at the international level, and to work towards protecting the environment and the quality of life for all living beings." Our working methods include conducting analyses, surveys, or research to increase the effectiveness and development of our activities, developing policies, developing management skills, and reporting on these efforts. In this context, we prepared the Stray Animals Draft Law Research Report from the Youth's Perspective to understand the perspective of young people on the law regarding stray animals, which has recently become a prominent topic in our country and has generated diverse perspectives in society. We also aimed to understand and share the impact of the issue on young people, their thoughts, proposed solutions, and feelings on the matter.
The research was conducted using Google Forms between June 25-30, 2024, in the provinces of Ankara, Antalya, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Mersin, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Samsun, Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, and Van. Nineteen hundred and fourteen young people between the ages of 13 and 30 participated in the study. The data obtained was evaluated and reported by a team of 13 academics and field experts.
We shared our research report with the public at a press conference held on July 17, 2024. YESKAD Vice Chairman Akif Emre Duman, association members Ramazan Koç, Hacı Mehmet Şimşek, Beyza Nur Yiğit, and Hayrunnisa Büşra Erdem, as well as members of the press, attended the press conference.
We would like to thank our members and volunteers who contributed to the preparation of the report.
