Young People, Our Future and Fair Play - You Have Your Say

Elif Bilge Akkoyun, our association's volunteer youth worker and the 2023 Turkish Ju Jitsu Championship Youth Champion, organized the "Youth Are Our Future" and "Fair Play - Have Your Say" event. Two members of the YESKAD board of directors and 12 young people attended the event.

Fair play, he began by defining it as "the patient, consistent, and conscious adherence to the rules of the competition, even under challenging conditions. They refuse to accept unfair advantages to maintain equal opportunities. They attempt to exploit their opponents' unfair disadvantages. They view and value their opponents not as enemies but as individuals and partners with equal rights who enable the game to take place." He then addressed the following points: morality and ethics, the rules of the game and morality, and the responsibilities of athletes, coaches, spectators, referees, the media, club management, physical education teachers, and sports federations regarding fair play. The young people then took the floor and asked questions to accomplished athlete Elif Bilge Akkoyun on topics of interest to them. The young people, who stated that the event was productive and they benefited from it, thanked the experienced athlete and YESKAD for organizing it.
