We took part as a partner institution in the Little Hearts Are Joyful Project
The Call for Community Festivities Program aims to establish strong unity at the local level by establishing connections between local public institutions and NGOs through Turkish Red Crescent Branch organizations and to create a sustainable regional/local festival on a project basis.
The Malatya Branch of the Turkish Red Crescent submitted its "Little Hearts Are Joyful" project to this year's call for projects. Partner institutions in the project include İnönü University, the Innovative Sustainable Development Association, Green Cinemas, and the Birlik Foundation Malatya Branch.
The project, written by our Project Team, covers approximately 120,000 people living in 74 container cities in Malatya affected by the February 2023 earthquakes. Project activities aim to reach 5,000 children aged 3-14 living in these container cities, helping them overcome the fear and panic they experience during earthquakes, supporting their psychosocial well-being, introducing them to the Turkish Red Crescent, and raising awareness. 50 young volunteers are planning a "Red Crescent-themed painting" event, a "3D Wooden Model Making" event, Open Air Cinema Days, performances and screenings of popular Rafadan Tayfa plays, and cultural tours.
