Cultural Heritage Workshop Completed
Our association member, Müfit ŞİRİN, a history teacher at Aydın-Karacasu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, completed the Cultural Heritage Workshop, which began in March and is part of YESKAD's activity plan. Eight young people participated in the twelve-week workshop. The aim was to help the young people understand and protect their cultural heritage. The goal was to equip them with more knowledge about our cultural heritage and encourage them to take more action in this area.
The workshops introduced the significant historical and cultural values of Türkiye and the region, explaining the importance of preserving them and passing them on to future generations. Topics covered included UNESCO World Heritage Sites, cultural heritage, natural heritage, risks and hazards, how to select World Heritage Sites, selection criteria for cultural and natural heritage, approved World Heritage Sites in Türkiye, and intangible cultural heritage.
During the workshop, informational activities were conducted on the protection of cultural heritage. The young people conducted research on the topics covered in the workshop and participated in field trips. Through these productive activities, the young people adopted the "Protect, do not harm, do not allow to be harmed" approach and voluntarily assumed the responsibility of Heritage Guardians.
